My Reflection
My knowledge on the topics I have explored associated with my project have extended greatly into things I was not aware of before I started. I learnt more about the relation between psychology and music and how music can be used as a means of therapy. Extending my knowledge allowed me to understand my topic more and with my research, I was able to construct my pieces efficiently with a substantial understanding of psychology and music like the importance of beats in a track.
This project allowed me to also develop my skills in music in terms of creating and composing music singlehandedly. If I were to reflect on my skills in theory and music prior to the commence of my project, I would have not been able to be as developed in them than now. Since I learnt so much while composing and communicating with my mentor and music teacher, I was able to use this extended knowledge to create pieces of music which could relieve anxiety.
Communicating with my school counselor also exposed me to more concepts and factors related to how psychology is linked with the way we respond to music which was built into my product.
My understanding of the global context, ‘Personal and Cultural expression’ has developed in several ways. Firstly, moving forth with my goal and purpose of my product, my knowledge on how music can impact the way we express our emotions has developed and I now know more about my areas of exploration. As the completion of my product progressed, I learnt more about how we can use music to influence the way we react to certain types of music. The global context reflects of this understanding and made me more aware of what I needed to accomplish in relation to the ideas and concepts relevant to the global context.
